Allied Health Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists(OT) work within our multidisciplinary team and deliver treatments which maximise functional capacity, independence and wellbeing of individuals, particularly those living with disabilities as well as making it easier to complete daily tasks.

OT is particularly important for those living with disabilities, who may need help with:

• Improving their cognitive skills such as problem solving, memory and attention
• Self-care e.g dressing, bathing, eating and drinking
• Improving their fine/gross motor skills e.g. walking, writing, balance and sitting
• Sensory processing and visual perception
• Musculoskeletal rehabilitation

After your initial assessment with our OT, we will coordinate with you, our multidisciplinary team and your carer to assist in developing a treatment plan and strategy that is best suited to your needs.

Speech Pathology

Our speech pathologists offer a wide range of services to assist individuals to improve their communication and swallowing skills. We support children through to adults and older Australian’s including those with an NDIS plan.
You may be experiencing difficulties with communication and using language to express yourself or struggling with eating and drinking. Our therapists will create a tailored plan by assessing and identifying where your problem areas are, and providing strategies and training programs to assist in improving your skills in these areas.

• Language
• Social communication skills
• Literacy
• Fluency
• Voice
• Eating and drinking
• Alternative and Augmentative Communication including pictures, sounds and digital devices
• Complex communication disorders e.g. arising from stroke or traumatic brain injury

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

Our PBS clinicians at Concentric, prepare a document that is used as a guide for the person's PBS plan. This will contain strategies based on evidence that can fully address the needs of the individual to improve the quality of their life.

PSB is an evidence-based framework consisting of four main elements:

• Developing an understanding about why challenging behaviours occur by assessing the impact of the social environment, physical environment and broader context on the person with disability
• Involving stakeholders and capturing their perspectives
• Using the emerging understanding from assessment to implement and evaluate a person-centred sustainable support system around the person with disability
• Focusing on enhancing quality of life outcomes for the person with disability and those around them

Allied Health Psychology

Allied Health Dietitian

If you are experiencing any of the following, then you may benefit from the support of our dietitians:

• Eating, drinking or swallowing issues
• Bowel issues
• Nutrient absorption/deficiency issues
• Fussy eating

• Allergies and intolerances
• Lifestyle conditions such as diabetes and heart disease

Dietitians can also help provide support for individuals who are PEG tube fed.
