What is neurological physiotherapy?
In order for your muscles to move effectively, signals need to move from your brain to the area in question. These signals move between your central nervous system (CNS) and peripheral nervous system to have the desired effect. When you experience damage to your CNS, those signals don’t reach their target region. Using NDIS physio, you can kick-start the messaging pathways that make these movements possible again.
Although the results vary according to your condition and your prognosis, routinely accessing our NDIS physiotherapy services may help to relay neural pathways. Your neurons can regrow, but they do so at a slower rate than other body tissues. Neurological physiotherapy uses repeated movements and exercises to create new pathways.
How do your NDIS physio services work?
If you choose to use our NDIS physiotherapy services, your first session will involve a full assessment of your condition. Following this first consultation, we’ll work with you to create personal goals. Our physiotherapists understand that each person who comes to Concentric Rehab seeks different outcomes. From your first appointment onwards, we’ll work with you to achieve your desired goals.
Each NDIS physiotherapy session is carried out by a professional who is trained in neurological physiotherapy. With each session, they’ll track your progress and realign your goals accordingly. You may be expected to carry out repeated exercises at home, which maximises your chances of success. In some cases, you may find that working with other allied health professionals, such as exercise physiologists, is also beneficial.
NDIS physiotherapy that’s convenient for you
At Concentric Rehab, we know that attending our clinic for your NDIS physio session isn’t always convenient. Wherever necessary, we work to provide our clients with mobile services. As a result, you don’t need to worry about being unable to access neurological physiotherapy when mobility restrictions prevent you from leaving your home.
