The tools. The methodologies. The outcomes.
Like the Guggenheim Museum. Walt Disney Concert Hall. Gehry Tower. Chiat/ Day Building. Dancing House. World renowned architect Frank Gehry is a pioneer of the use of digital technology for architectural design and construction. An evangelist for embracing advanced 3D computer design and information management systems in order to "push the envelope".
His company, Gehry Technologies, promotes design and construction methodologies that view three dimensional models of construction information as components of the project contract documentation.
These methodologies (digital practice) include the technical aspects of tracking data and also the contractual and procedural advances that need to take place. Digital practice enhances - and is compatible with - traditional construction and contracting methods.
Keynote speaker: Dennis Shelden
Chief Technology Officer, Gehry Technologies
Dennis Shelden is the Chief Technology Officer of US-based Gehry Technologies. In this unique presentation he will expound on digital practice, noting its global achievements and its influence on the New Age of design and construction. Dennis will be supported by representatives from RMIT, Sydney University and QUT presenting snapshots on their own recent architectural project work. |
